The project concerns the comprehensive reconfiguration of a 78 sqm apartment, with the aim of modernising its spatial organisation and adapting it to contemporary living requirements.
In its original condition, the front of the apartment comprised the main living areas, connected by a sliding partition door, together with one bedroom. The rear accommodated the bathroom, kitchen and circulation areas, with the kitchen positioned adjacent to the lightwell. At the entrance, a guest WC and an intermediate, poorly usable space further contributed to a fragmented and inefficient layout.
The main objective of the intervention was to reduce residual areas such as halls and corridors and to establish a more coherent and efficient spatial organisation. The new layout introduces a generous en-suite master bedroom at the front of the apartment, conceived as a sequence of interconnected spaces. The bedroom opens towards the living area through sliding partition doors, while its opposite side connects to a new en-suite bathroom and dedicated dressing area.
A smaller en-suite bedroom, which can also function as a private workspace, is positioned at the front of the apartment. It is served by a new compact bathroom, located adjacent to the existing bathroom. The kitchen and dining area are brought together in an open-plan arrangement within the central part of the apartment, creating a more fluid relationship with the entrance and the main living spaces.
A compact entrance hall defines the transition into the apartment, while the existing guest WC is retained and reconfigured to serve the new layout.
A cohesive material palette runs throughout the apartment, establishing continuity between the different spaces. Oak-effect timber veneer, Tzepolino marble, white lacquered surfaces and selected areas of Didyma marble combine to create a warm and contemporary interior language, balancing natural textures, luminosity and understated elegance.
